About The Absentee Owner Postcard Checklist

Use the Absentee Owner Postcard Checklist to send out postcards to absentee owners. Absentee owners are people that own a property and have their tax bill sent to an address other than the property address. This is usually, but not always, a sign that they are real estate investors.

A list of absentee owners can be a great list to market to both for buying and for selling. For example, if you select a list of absentee owners that have purchased the property in the last 6 months this might be a great list of real estate investor buyers that have recently bought and might be very likely to be buying again. If you select a list of absentee owners that purchased more than 5 years ago, they may be more inclined to sell.

I include sections for both doing the mailing yourself using the United States Postal Service and for outsourcing your postcard mailing to a professional mailing house. You will notice that I do not include an option where you are manually sending out the postcards. I do not recommend this. The US Postal Service option and probably the mailing house is both cheaper and easier than manually sending out postcards.

I also emphasize checking and double checking your phone number and website before doing your mailing. After making this mistake, I hope to help prevent you from making it by including it in the checklist.
