About the CraigsList Buy Ad Checklist

Using the CraigsList Buy Ad Checklist to post ads stating that you buy houses is not going to generate a flood of calls or emails. However, depending on your city size and the effectiveness of the message you decide to run you may get a call or two a month or more.

The Real Estate Services section on CraigsList is not nearly as popular as the Real Estate For Sale sections or the Real Estate For Rent section on CraigsList, but your ad is not really real estate for sale and so I do not recommend posting ads to buy in the real estate for sale section. However, if you happen to have properties you are selling or renting, having an extra PS that you buy houses in that ad I think is appropriate and will get you a much better response for your time invested.

Ghosting On CraigsList

Ghosting is when you put an ad up on CraigsList and everything seems to work just perfectly, but you are never able to find the ad on the results page. This is part of CraigsList anti-spam filtering system and very frustrating to those of us posting legitimate advertising.

We do include part of our checklist to address this specific problem.

Posting Frequency

There is a significant advantage to being listed near the top of CraigsList, so I do recommend taking down your old post and reposting as frequently as CraigsList policies allow.
