Today I made some small changes to how we personally do our RSS Feeds to Automatic Emails on the LearnToBeRich.com website.
In the past, if you signed up for our mailing list and selected that you were interested in, let’s say as an example, real estate investing, then you would receive an email (up to once per day) whenever we post a new blog post that actually was categorized as “Real Estate Investing” on our blog.
When we initially set this up, we thought that this would be great. We were wrong, but not too wrong.
What we discovered as we did more of the emails for new categories is that we have some overlap in what we believe people would be interested in receiving. For example, when we post topics on general marketing principles it really does apply to real estate investors, real estate agents, consultants, artists and so on… more than just real estate investors as I explained in my example.
So, I had two choices… every time I wrote an article that was about marketing I could also put it in the category that had an attached RSS feed to automatic email service attached to or I could make the automatic emails include new posts from more than one category.
It occurred to me almost immediately after I realized the choice that it is better to classify things correctly and do fewer categories and just make the RSS email feed include both the marketing category AND the specific industry that was selected.
So, how do you combine a variety of RSS feeds into a single automatic email?
Well, it is easier than you might imagine with a service like ChimpFeedr. We’ve been recommending MailChimp now for some time and combine that tool like we explained in our video on how to setup an automatic email from an RSS and presto… it works great.
So, I will be going through and updating the existing RSS feeds to automatic emails that I have to the new system and then adding a few more interest groups as we expand this afternoon.

I’ve created more than one business that has earned me more than six figures from AdSense. The first time I wrote custom software to do it. The second time I used a free multi-blog software package called B2Evolution.
On this blog, I am using WordPress and currently recommend WordPress as the blogging software of choice to consulting clients for individual blogs that they decide to setup to run their businesses. In fact, if you reference the Special Report we have on recommended web hosting providers (free if you subscribe to the mailing list) you can get WordPress installed for free with just a couple clicks on the (often called, oddly enough, “one click installation”).
Before I created the network of about 300 blogs that I used the last time I generated six figures with AdSense I did consider the WordPress mu (multi-user) blog software package, but ultimately B2Evolution seemed like a better fit.
I am probably going to post the video called Earning Six Figures A Year With AdSense to the blog in a few moments where I discuss exactly how I did it and how I’d recommend anyone wanting to do it to go about it. On the video B2Evolution is the software that I shared with you that is free that you can use to build a network of blogs.
It has some powerful features like the ability to have content shared across a number of blogs, to have separate blogs for a variety of niches and/or geographical areas plus much more.

I am sitting in my office in what I consider a pretty slow week–the week between Christmas and New Year’s–tackling a rather daunting project… convert my current business system to a Getting Things Done model.
I just downloaded the newest version of the Getting Things Done Workflow Processing and Organizing PDF (shown in the image to this post).
I will be using that as I go through a HUGE inbox full of stuff that I have to enter into my personal system. I decided to go with the software application Things for the Mac for my system along with the extension of Things for iPhone to integrate that with my mobile device.
With the amount of inbox processing I have to do today, I would not expect to see many posts from me today or tomorrow, but the good news is that with the new system you should see a massive increase in productivity after I do get everything setup.

I just updated my list of recommended Email Broadcast and Autoresponder Service providers that you can download for free.
I normally offer this special report along with other special reports and a couple completely free full course downloads for those that subscribe to my mailing list.
So, what did I update on the list of email broadcast providers and autoresponder services? Well, I updated the list to reflect that I am moving heavily toward MailChimp.
Why MailChimp?
I am glad you asked.
First, I love that they offer a truly free plan for new business owners. Few things annoy me more than the large expenses of setting up a new online business before revenue is coming in to support it. MailChimp solves this problem by giving folks a completely free option for growing and managing a small list maxing out at 500 subscribers. For a large number of real estate investors (especially real estate investing Bronze Member consulting clients) that will be more than enough until you have a good deal of revenue coming in and you can upgrade your account at that point (when there is revenue to support it).
With their plan, the help they provide and the help that I provide to consulting clients you can very easily setup your entire email broadcast and autoresponder system. Once it is in place… correctly… you can grow knowing that your system was setup correctly for the long term. It is extremely frustrating to grow a list of subscribers only to find out you made the wrong choice and need to somehow get your list out of one system (that is not working the way you need it to) and into a new system where you need to reset up EVERYTHING.
In a recent article on using one blog or many blogs I hinted at the problem with having to make large changes like this… that is a major downside to making multiple blogs, but even with one blog it is still annoying and a waste of time.
Another HUGE advantage that I love about MailChimp is that you can with the proper setup have me write all your real estate investor articles for you.
Here’s what I mean…
If you are a real estate investor wanting to focus at least part of your business on wholesaling, that means that you will be growing a list of real estate investors that are your real estate investor wholesale buyers list. I teach a great deal about this for our real estate investing consulting clients. As you grow your list of real estate investor wholesale buyers you will want to keep in touch with them on a regular basis (some people will choose to do daily while others will feel better about once a week or so). How do you keep in touch with your list of wholesale real estate investor buyers when you are not willing (or able) to write good quality content for them to consume? Will they be interested in opening up your emails because there is great stuff for them?
Well, that is one of the advantages of MailChimp… if you setup your MailChimp account the way I recommend, you can actually grow your own list, but have it so that they get great articles about investing in real estate straight from my HUGE collection of articles (and the new ones I write) sent to their email address FROM YOU, branded with YOUR business theme and with a reminder that you are a real estate investor/wholesaler in their market. If you have deals, you can include a link directly to your deals website in each email. You can set it up to go out once a week or once a day (if I have new articles to share).
And second best of all, it can all be done automatically for you. You don’t have to do anything once you set it up.
Why is that second best of all and not best of all… because the best part of all is that it is totally free to do… the account with MailChimp is free as I described above, the articles from me are free and if you you opt to follow what I teach in our real estate investing consulting program you can actually make a little money growing your list (which has pros and cons that I discuss with Bronze Members).
