Lead Generation For Handyman Businesses

Today we’re going to be going over The World’s Greatest Handyman Marketing Course. I’m really excited to be here this morning. I think the webinar should run a few hours. It may go as long as all day; we will find out. But let’s get started; we’ve got a lot to cover, and I want to get right into the material for you. We will be taking several breaks. I’ll probably be taking a break about once every hour or so, maybe more like once every two hours. And then definitely taking a break for lunch. So let’s get started, and go right into the next slide.

So a little bit of information about me, so you know who’s presenting to you here today. I’ve been marketing my own businesses online mostly since 1999. I had a business before that which was offline, but I’ve really started working online. The first website that I can think of that we made was a little bit before that, but we’ve been marketing businesses for ourselves since 1999. I’ve ran three different national businesses that have all been primarily lead generation businesses at heart. And I could talk to you a little bit about the different ones as we go through the presentation today. One thing I do want to point out though is that the core of your marketing plan is going to be lead generation. You’re going to be generating leads to get on your internal database. You’re going to be generating leads in order to generate immediate business, and so we’ll be talking about that. One of the things I did want to mention too is that one of the things I realized early on in my career is that you want to start generating revenue as you’re generating leads. So I think this is a specialty that very few people focus on. It is something that I am an expert at. In the last two businesses that I created, two of the national businesses, we generated six-figure revenue streams directly from lead generation. That’s before we converted any clients to paying clients or anything like that. During the process of getting potential prospect to raise their hand and say, “Yeah, I’m interested; send me more information” or “Yeah, I’m interested; get me on your mailing list” or “I could possibly be interested in working with you on that; give me more information”. And in some form or another, we were actually generating six-figure revenue streams while we were doing lead generation. And one of the things I definitely want to talk to you about today is that process, because I think that it’s extremely important that if you can get your lead cost down or completely eliminated or make it profitable to even do lead generation, lead generation becomes much more exciting. And you’ll want to do more marketing which will ultimately lead to a much better chance of you being successful with your business, because the more prospects you have, the more paying clients you’re likely to have as well.

Just to give you some background too, I have generated leads for over 1,200 industries, so I am qualified to talk about a variety of these things. So this is not something I have never done before. Handyman business is just one of the industries I have generated leads for. I have not done the handyman business as in “swing the hammer”; I was on the lead generation side, so I was just generating prospects. If you think about it, in some ways when you’re doing your own business, if you think about your own business as a lead generation business and then lead generations for yourself, if you generate extra you could always outsource those or sell those to others. That is the model you should think of me as. We were the guys that were generating leads, and then allowing other people to work those leads in their direct businesses.
